The Sri Lanka Yatra is a 6 nights / 7 days journey of faith, devotion and divine experiences across a land of blessings, culture and nature. Beginning at Jaffna in the north and ending at Colombo, this Sri Lanka temple tour package from Chennai weaves together the great Saivite shrines of the island, a full Ramayana trail, and the hill country of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya.
You take darshan at Nallur Kandaswamy, the island shrine of Nainativu Nagapooshani Amman, Ketheeswaram and Koneswaram - two of the Pancha Ishwarams - and the Shankari Devi Shakti Peetham at Trincomalee. The Ramayana leg covers Sita Amman Temple, Ashok Vatika, Hanuman sites and Ravana Falls, while the journey closes with the Kataragama Murugan Temple and Colombo city. Three vegetarian meals a day, an air-conditioned tourist vehicle and a professional tour leader are included throughout.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival in Jaffna - Northern Sri Lanka. Arrive at Jaffna Palaly International Airport. Visit Selva Sannidhi Murugan Temple, then drive through Point Pedro (Paruthithurai) and Kankesanthurai Harbour and Beach. Darshan at Maviddapuram Kandaswamy Temple and proceed to Keerimalai for darshan at the Keerimalai Naguleswaram Temple. Evening hotel check-in and overnight stay in Jaffna.
Jaffna Temple & City Tour. Darshan at the Nallur Kandaswamy Temple. Proceed to Nainativu Island by boat for the Nainativu Nagapooshani Amman Temple (boat charges additional). Continue with Jaffna Fort, the Jaffna Public Library, Jaffna city sightseeing and the Jaffna Market. Evening at leisure and overnight stay in Jaffna.
Jaffna to Trincomalee. Early departure for darshan at Ketheeswaram Temple and a holy bath at Palavi Theertham. Proceed to Trincomalee for the Koneswaram Temple, the Ravana’s Cut and related sites, Trincomalee Beach and views of the famous natural harbour. Darshan at the Shankari Devi Shakti Peetham and Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple, then the Kanniya Hot Water Springs. Overnight stay in Trincomalee.
Trincomalee to Sigiriya to Matale to Kandy. Proceed to Sigiriya to see the Rock Fortress, historical sites and Buddhist viharas. Visit a spice garden, then continue to Matale for darshan at the Sri Muthumariamman Temple. Drive on to Kandy for the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), Kandy Lake and panoramic city views. Optional Kandy cultural dance show (entry fee extra). Overnight stay in Kandy.
Kandy to Ramboda to Nuwara Eliya. Kandy city sightseeing including the gem museum where you can buy sapphires and precious stones. Visit a tea factory and research centre to learn about Sri Lankan tea production, with tea tasting and a chance to buy authentic Ceylon tea. Darshan at the Ramboda Anjaneyar Temple and a stop at the Ramboda waterfalls for scenic mountain views. Proceed to the famous hill station of Nuwara Eliya. Overnight stay.
Ramayana Trail - Nuwara Eliya to Kataragama. A day on the Ramayana trail visiting the Sita Amman Temple, Ashok Vatika (Ashokavanam), Hanuman related sites including Hanuman’s footprint and the Seetha bathing waterfall, set against cool hill country scenery. Nuwara Eliya city sightseeing before proceeding to Kataragama, passing landscapes and wildlife areas and stopping at Ravana Ella (Ravana Falls). Overnight stay in Kataragama.
Kataragama to Colombo - Departure. Darshan at the Kataragama Murugan Temple and Kiri Vehera, with an optional holy bath at Manik Ganga and an optional jeep ride to the hill area (jeep charges extra). Proceed to Colombo for city sightseeing - Lotus Tower (entry ticket extra), Galle Face Green, Port City Colombo, Colombo Harbour, the Presidential Secretariat and government landmarks, the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium and Kochchikade Church. Darshan at the Sri Ponnambalavaneswaram Temple, then transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport.
